Happy Sunderday (just) to all!

Hi Ho everyone and welcome to another slightly late but still Sunderday post.

For today’s new shield I give to you... a new shield!

Now before you go all “ripping off Captain America” on me, just be aware that you don’t technically throw the shield and it’s not a ranged weapon. I will admit though that, although I’m not really a fan of Captain America, he did initiate my thought process for designing this shield.
Being a big fan of the Magus (despite my initial scepticism of its playability) I would love to play one who uses a Razor Shield as his primary weapon.
I see great action sequences flashing through my head as I envision a Razor Shield master cutting down foes with a razor sharp disk on a wire, twirling it around his head to target foes at all angles.

I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed creating it. :)

Razor Shield
This normal looking metal buckler actually hides a deadly secret and is often prized by those of a nefarious nature for its surprise value.
Unlike a regular buckler, a Razor Shield is gripped in the hand, rather than being strapped to the forearm, which means that nothing else can be held in that hand as with a regular buckler. This is because the shield is made from adamantine, with the outer edge honed to razor sharpness. It can therefore be used in combat to slice at an opponent at the cost of giving up your AC bonus. If the wielder has Improved Shield Bash, they can retain their AC Bonus while attacking in this way.
Hidden behind the shield and contained within the grip is a spool of adamantine wire, with a snap back switch attached. This means that the Razor Shield can be used as a reach weapon by being thrown at a target and then retracted using the snap back switch. It takes a Move Action to retract the Razor Shield. If the wielder has Rapid Reload and a free hand this can be reduced to a Swift Action.
The use of a Razor Shield in this manner is highly dangerous and should only be attempted by those with quick reflexes(Dexterity 16 required to use). Careless users have been known to lose their hand to an ill timed return. When its AC Bonus is active, the Razor Shield also confers DR 1/-. Like anything made from adamantine it is considered to be a Masterwork item, which means that it confers a +1 enhancement bonus on attack rolls.
Magical Enhancement can be put on the shield either as a shield or as a weapon separately (so for example the shield could be a +1 shield/+2 weapon for a cost of 12,100gp and a total of +2 AC/+2 tohit).

Lesser versions of the Razor Shield have been created using normal steel by those of a lesser station, but these pale comparisons can’t match the gracefulness of a true Razor Shield.  A Lesser Razor Shield requires a 14 Dexterity to use properly and it isn’t considered Masterwork like its cousin.

Wielding a Razor Shield (even a lesser one) as a weapon requires Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Razor Shield) to use, although it can be used as a buckler by anyone who is proficient in their use. Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Razor Shield)also grants the wielder the ability of being proficient in its use as a shield, although it doesn’t mean that they are proficient in the use of other bucklers.Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Razor Shield) also fulfils the pre-requisites for both the Improved Shield Bash and Rapid Reload feats, but only in relation to their use with the Razor Shield (unless the wielder also has proficiency with other shields, in which case Improved Shield Bash can be used with those shields as well).
